From Ecological Thought (1995) to Constitutional
Environmental Rights (2005), the unifying theme of TimÕs work is how the values
and assumptions of political theory require reassessment in the light of
ecological insights.
His most recent work continues this theme in the context of
international political theory.
He is currently investigating how concerns of environmental justice
globally amount to a contest between human rights and rights of private
property in natural resources and environmental services. The organising
idea of an ecological debt is examined through such cases as carbon
emissions and intellectual property rights in genetic resources.
